Update: Maryam Oyinyechi siblings plan to sever her from Islam

The siblings (particularly the brother) has taken more steps to sever her from her Islamic faith through an alliance with her clan in Abia.

The Muslim who gave Maryam Oyinyechi refuge approached welfare office under the state government of Port Harcourt.

Invitation was extended to the siblings to ascertain the cause of the sour relationship between them, and see if there is any hope for reconciliation.

The siblings alone were invited. Outrageously surprising, chinonye in connivance with his other sisters invited members of their clan from Abia State. It is unclear why he invited their clan. Perhaps, to come help fight her and those who gave her refuge so she can shudder out of Islam.

“We were surprised when we got to the welfare office; the village people were just every where. Where as, the individuals that were only invited was chinonye and his other sisters.” The Muslim female giving refuge to Maryam Oyinyechi said.


The Muslim host of Maryam tried to sue for peace between chinonye, her sisters and Maryam (the victim).
Every appeal was met with negative response.

Moreover, Maryam had said to her Muslim host that, she was never going back to them. If she makes any attempt to go home with them, she will be forced home to the village (in Abia State) and locked up in a room (imprisoned).

Her host thought she was only trying all means to make her stay more with her.

But, Maryam was proven right when the arbitrator (in welfare office) reported back to the muslim host who had gone out from the government agency to attend to pressing needs.

“(The arbitrator) said to us; I called Chinonye for intense questioning and investigations.
I will advice that Maryam never be allowed to go back to that house because they have a plan that can cause damage to her.
Take Maryam with you. Try as much as you can to get her an apartment, a business so that she becomes independent of them.

“The brother, Chinonye, said; he will never allow Maryam Oyinyechi to stay in the same house with him because he is a Christian going to church while she is doing Alakuba Bokoharam.
‘I can’t be going to church and she is going to Alakuba in the same house’. She will be taken to the village.”

While the Muslim host would have loved to help her, she is in between letting Maryam Oyinyechi go to her family or saving her with nothing, she doesn’t have the resources to keep Maryam and help her.

The tears of Maryam calls for help from Muslims.
Would Muslims allow her to go through the trauma of being forcefully taken to the village and eventually locked up in a room as deterrence for joining Islam or would Muslims rescue Maryam now when she is rescueble while still with her Muslim host?

وَمَا لَكُمۡ لَا تُقَٰتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡمُسۡتَضۡعَفِينَ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ وَٱلنِّسَآءِ وَٱلۡوِلۡدَٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَخۡرِجۡنَا مِنۡ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ ٱلظَّالِمِ أَهۡلُهَا وَٱجۡعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيّٗا وَٱجۡعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِيرًا
And what is [the matter] with you that you fight not in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?
[Surah An-Nisa Ch 4:75]
